Head of Russian Duma to attend Rohani inauguration

Chairman of Russian State Duma Sergei Naryshkin is due to attend the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of Hassan Rohani as Iran"s new President.
Heading a Russian delegation, Naryshkin will travel to Tehran to participate in the event at the Islamic Republic"s official invitation.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov will also accompany Naryshkin on this trip.
Rohani"s swearing-in is scheduled to be held on August 4, one day after his endorsement by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Meanwhile, AzerNews reported on Thursday that Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov will attend Rohani"s inauguration ceremony.
Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid will also travel to Tehran to participate in the event.
Furthermore, South African Deputy Foreign Minister Ebrahim Ismail Ebrahim said on Thursday that the country"s Foreign Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane is set to travel to Iran to participate in the ceremony.
Ebrahim added that Nkoana-Mashabane will hold talks with senior Iranian officials on the sidelines of the events to express the country"s strong interest to expand relations with Iran.
Rohani won the June 14 presidential election with 50.7 percent of a total of 36, 704, 156 ballots. Voter turnout in the election was 72.7 percent.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday that leaders and officials from across the world, except for the United States and Israel, have been invited to Rohani"s inauguration ceremony.
